How the news lines up with the moves
- DEA follow-through. Trulieve, Vireo and Texas dispensary operators announced federal registrations on Monday. MSOS gained 6.6% on its heaviest volume in four sessions, erasing Friday's 3.4% drop.
- Curaleaf led the group on the day it announced an equity stake in Boone Town Provisions, its fourth New Jersey dispensary.
- Tilray barely moved (+0.8% to $2.55) even after raising its FY2027 EBITDA guidance to $70–75M. Coverage framed the news as consolidation while Canadian cannabis sales decline.
- Hemp lagged. Turning Point Brands was the weakest name as coverage of December's federal hemp ban picked up.
- Massachusetts votes today on Question 8, the repeal of adult-use sales, so Monday's rally came on the eve of the vote.
These are correlations, not proof of cause.
Was Friday's selloff an overreaction, or is the market still working out who benefits from rescheduling?
